I grew up in Oberlin, Ohio where my art career started early, taking classes at the local arts centers as well as attending all of the art classes at my high school.
I received an art and teaching degree from Alfred University in New York, where my love for painting and watercolors blossomed. Imagination is an extension of reality, something that I use in my art to express the intangible. The worlds I create are meant to convey a sense of realism intertwined with fantastical highlights.
Spills, designs, and unrealistic situations add to the effect of imagination and a sense of carefree mentality. The abstracted landscape allows the viewer to make their own interpretation and hopefully reminisce about their own imagination.
I have participated in the Gatlinburg Fine Arts Show, the Dogwood Arts Festival Regional Fine Arts Exhibition, and the Mountain Makins Festival at the Rose Center. My and husband and I moved to Wilmington, NC in the summer of 2011 and are happily enjoying the beach and other coastal activities.
